BABY BUBBA
Big fit. Smaller glasses.
Not everyone with a wider face wants a big pair of glasses.
That was the idea behind Baby Bubba.
At 143 mm wide, it gives you the room of a medium-to-wide fit, but we deliberately kept the lenses relatively shallow. The result is a frame that fits a bigger face without covering half of it.
And there is a practical reason for that proportion, too.
As opticians, we know a frame doesn't only have to look good while you're standing still. On a fuller face, a frame that sits too deep can meet the cheeks when you smile — suddenly the glasses move up and down with every laugh. Baby Bubba leaves more clearance below the frame, helping it stay where it belongs: comfortably on your nose.
The shape itself has a little history for us. I worked with proportions like these years ago at Freudenhaus. Fashion moved on, as it always does — and eventually came back around.
We didn't bring it back because it's suddenly “new” again. We brought it back because a good proportion is still a good proportion.
Straight, masculine, compact and clean, with enough presence to hold its own on a wider face.
Baby Bubba. More room. Not more glasses.
